While I can’t say my use of these tools was great in Chained, I’ve learned quite a lot by developing these allies through my next two books.
That’s why I am so excited to share these tools with you! From the onset, these allies can be the hero’s adamant helpers and vulnerable friends.
Physical features play an interesting role in connecting us to the ally.
Everyone needs reason to take certain actions; an ally is no exception.
Putting these little things into the story, both of the hero and the allies, adds the touches of depth that we want to fill out our storylines.
Telling their stories does three things…
A longing remains inside, even when desire seems to fly out the window. In a story, everyone longs for something or someone.
The ally is susceptible to injury, whether emotional or physical, but can they also be wrong?
If the ally doesn’t stick, then what’s the point?
Giving the allies inner and outer motivations.
I truly hope these elements help you in your character development and story creation!
