Kingdom’s Reign (Kingdom Series #6)
Chuck Black

Genre: Biblical Allegory/Christian Fiction-Fantasy/ Children/Teen/Young Adult/Family Read-Aloud

Well done. The words of the Prince had strengthened the heart of Cedric more than he had ever dared to imagine. And he will need every ounce of the Prince’s strength and loyalty to persevere.

In the Kingdom Across the Sea, knights of the Prince train for battle and Cedric finds himself thriving in the beautiful land amidst the King’s people. Meanwhile, the Dark Knight and his evil ones have ruled over Arrethtrae. And all of the knights’ training will prepare them to cross back to Arrethtrae and fulfill the special assignments from the King and His Son.

However, it seems nothing prepared Cedric for Talea. Who is she? Why did the Prince assign her to join him on his trips as an ambassador? Didn’t the Prince trust him? More besides, it doesn’t seem that Talea is enjoying his company.

Yet, when news of the Dark Knight’s armies sweeping across the land reaches Cedric and Talea, they are willing to sacrifice everything – even uncover hidden secrets – to get the news to the Prince. Will they be too late?

The final installment in the Kingdom Series by Chuck Black – Kingdom’s Reign

Chuck Black has a distinct writing voice and style in this series that hasn’t changed – the mark of a mature Christian who writes, one whose Inspirer and Guide is the unchanging God. He knows how God has told him to write and he’s sticking with it, by God’s grace! It’s definitely a level of maturity I would like to reach.

Oh, you thought Cedric’s story was over? Me, too. Yet here it is, another entire book following Cedric, formerly of Chessington! Again, Cedric is a character worth following because of his devotion to the Prince. It affects every aspect of his life, actions and speech.

I will say, there is plenty of character and world development going on! Arrethtrae has never seemed larger, nor have the character even been dearer. It’s sad to close the last page.

This book has a focus on relationships, old and new. The relationship between the Prince and the King, between the Prince and His people, between the Prince and Cedric, and relationships between Followers. It gives the book plenty of joy!

An aura of servitude surrounds the characters and we are challenged to live in a similar way.

Somehow, doesn’t it seem like it would be easier to serve God inside a book like this – where we can draw a sword, pierce the enemy, and live victoriously? However, we do, in our own time. Books like this are meant to show us the spiritual battle so we recognize and fight them here…now. If you’re needing a little help coming gently back into reality, the discussion questions and answers will point you back to Scripture and encourage you to live now as victoriously as Cedric, Talea, and others!

I loved the portrayal of the Prince, yet again. With all the danger and evil surmounting, the Prince stands fearless, compassionate, and firm – in righteousness, love, wrath, mercy, justice. Nothing moved him!

Hallelu Yah! Our God is the King of kings and Lord of Lords! He will return for His people, and reign and rule in righteousness from that time on and forevermore! We have a future hope of eternal life with our King and Prince!

The ending climax is…ah, yes, you must read it. Pick up the book and enjoy the Kingdom’s Reign.

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, who rider is called Faithful and True. With justice He judges and makes war.

Revelation 19:11
