Stephanie is adept at putting up a shield whenever those questions start flying. “When is your guy coming along? When will it be your turn to walk down the aisle? You’re next, right?”
Marriage is desirable, yet, she is almost thirty! The possibility seems quite slim. When Steph’s cousin gets into a relationship and her best friend has to break one up, her own questions start flying…and the shield doesn’t work.
When will it be her turn to be married? Why is she waiting so long? What if it isn’t God’s will for her to marry?
When the season of questions ends, will Stephanie’s faith be shaken or strengthened?
Wedding Score, by Amanda Tero, is a thought-provoking and pleasurable read!
Drawing from personal experiences and her diary, Amanda weaves a tale that reads like a journey. The modern setting helps make it even more relatable to young women of this century. Stephanie’s character is heartfelt and honest. As the story is written in first person, Stephanie’s personality shines through, as do her longings, hopes, and faith.
The depth and pace of this story makes up for its shorter length. I loved the incorporation of Psalm 37 throughout the story!
The journey doesn’t end the way most girls imagine it will. It is a love-story of a different kind – one I think we Christian girls should become more familiar with. The guy-meets-girl romances are sweet, but the girl-meets-Savior is a story of greater love than can be grasped! The tales of ever-deepening love and delight in God are most satisfying and have a great impact on every Christian romance ever written.
Hallelu Yah – we have a Bridegroom who is faithful and present! Praise Adonai that He has sent the Bridegroom of Heaven to cleanse for Himself a people of His very own! Thank You, Jesus, for giving Yourself up for me, to make me holy, cleansing me through the Word, to present me blameless and pure before You. And, behold, He is coming again for His bride – the church of the Living God. Hallelu Yah!
Wedding Score is a short story worth the cozy afternoon read! I hope you can read it to seek the Lover of your soul while enjoying the twists and turns in the lives of Stephanie and her friends.
Psalm 84:11-12
“For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in You.”
