Laura’s Redemption (Rugged Cross Ranch #3)
Jill Dewhurst
Genre: Faith Filled Fiction, Western Fiction/Christian Fiction/Young Adult/Adult
Hiya! My name is Alyson Jensen, and I gratefully welcome you back to the Kingdom Seekers Circle. Many thanks to my dear friend, Cherish, whom I had the privilege of collaborating with for this review. When I say, “we,” it means Cherish and me.
Friendship. That one beautiful word sums up Laura’s relationship with Tim O’Brian. Knowing there was someone to trust and encourage her along the way, someone who understood and listened to her, was a blessing.
Now, Tim might be thinking of something more.
Laura has ambitions, dreams, adventures to fulfill. Besides, she really isn’t “wife material.” As much as Laura desires to be like Julie or Emily, her talents and personality are unique.
Quite suddenly, her life is in danger. While family and friends embark on a mission to save Laura, Tim finds himself at the front lines, willing to do anything to protect her.
Will Laura’s heart soften before it’s too late? Can truth open the way to triumph?
It’s Laura’s Redemption, book three of the Rugged Cross Ranch Series by Jill Dewhurst; a most exciting and powerful book! I loved this one as much as its predecessors!
Laura’s Redemption has plenty of action and adventure! It isn’t the same kind of adventure as you would find in a fantasy, true. But, it is very realistic. The drama and danger are present and deeply felt in that sense.
Mrs. Dewhurst keeps her broad perspective, enveloping us in the lives of those at Rugged Cross Ranch and in town. Combining ordinary life, extraordinary events, spiritual struggles and triumphs, love, and a few unexpected twists, she keeps us on the edges of our seats.
Mrs. Dewhurst’s experience as a nurse is clearly seen in the events of the story, adding an interesting layer of world development. The injuries are enough that, at a younger age, I would have closed the book. Thankfully, the scariest moments pass pretty quickly.
These characters are so real! Laura was relatable and her uniqueness gave her a special role in life. Tim, full of hutzpah, could seem a tinge reckless; his faith and consideration of others makes him bold. We like them very much! All of the characters are very human, yet they exemplify Christ’s sacrificial love, compassion, and courage.
We loved the parallel of this fiction-story to the life of Jesus Christ! Here, the best thing for me to do is raise a Hallelu Yah!
I praise You, Jesus, and thank You very much! You were bruised for my iniquities, and by Your wounds, I am healed! You shed Your innocent blood so I am forgiven and free to love You! Hallelu Yah!
You will be captivated by this next chapter of your Rugged Cross Ranch family. More than enjoying the adventure, though, I hope you will also be encouraged by the depth of Christ’s love for you and the sacrifice that He made to be in relationship with you!
By His wounds you have been healed.
For you were like sheep going astray,
but now you have returned
to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
1 Peter 3:24b-25
