Kingdom’s Quest (Kingdom Series #5)
Chuck Black

Genre: Biblical Allegory/Christian Fiction-Fantasy/ Children/Teen/Young Adult/Family Read-Aloud

He was dying. But, the Prince saved him. Trained by the Prince Himself, Gavinaugh stands on the threshold of his greatest quest.

“Where do I start?” he wonders.
“You start and end with Me,” the Prince replies.

Gavinaugh’s zeal for the Prince and spreading His compassion to the Outdwellers takes him across Arrethtrae. With the companionship of old and new friends, he proclaims the Prince and sets up havens to train knights in the midst of unbelieving leaders.

The warriors of the Dark Knight are never far away, either. Despite imprisonment, fierce battles and arena duels, beatings, and near death, the Prince equips and empowers Gavinaugh with His compassion, His power, and His sword.

Gavinaugh’s travels bring into relationship with an interesting Outdweller, a girl named Keanna. Knowing the Prince values her role in the Kingdom, Gavinaugh diligently protects her. Until his duty as protector turns into something more.

Will his love for a maiden be the end of the Kingdom’s Quest? Or is this the miracle that was meant to come?

This is now the fifth installment in the Kingdom Series by Chuck Black – it is Kingdom’s Quest! This is my second favorite of the whole series!

It is masterfully written – every element woven together with the overarching theme of redemption. Every twist and turn of this allegory to Paul’s life is thrilling, with the love and power of the Prince coursing through its veins. I found many of Chuck Black’s medieval, allegorical ways of telling Paul’s life to be intriguing, even unpredictable.

At first, I could not understand the role of Keanna. I liked her part, but didn’t see the reason for her existence. In the end, it made sense, and the love Paul had for the churches shone brilliantly through Gavinaugh and Keanna. Her role was twice as significant looking back on the details after the allegory had fully played out. The words of the Prince can fall on our ears as the most beautiful promises, yet what could our part possibly be in His kingdom? His kingdom is made of knights and ladies.

But, Hallelu Yah! Praise be to God, in Christ Jesus, for we who believe are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ (Rom. 8:17 7 Gal. 4:6-7). God makes us princes and princesses, and gives the inheritance of eternal life with Him!

As all the books in the series have been, Kingdom’s Quest is a powerful allegory that will keep you on the edge of your seat, encourage your faith, and point you to Christ.

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ…

Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household,
built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone.

Ephesians 2:13,19-20
