If there is not at least one hurdle in the path before you, then you are probably going the wrong way.
As a Christian, I am fully aware that the evil one will try to attack my faith at every opportunity. Jesus Christ has given me the strength to resist him. Similarly, my God has also helped my family and me to overcome the obstacles of publishing Trapped.
In June, my editor and I did two quick turnarounds, refining the content of Trapped. Then, I formatted the document. Meanwhile, my sister worked on the spectacular new cover. We completed these projects just before some special company arrived in July. We spent the next two weeks on break. I thought we were well ahead of schedule.
Let’s skip to early August.
My brother was finalizing the new book trailer, and I was observing the technical side over his shoulder.
“When do you want to release your book?” he asked.
“I don’t know. I hadn’t thought about it yet. There are only a few things left to do,” I answered.
We discussed all the options and timeframes, and we settled on September 5th. He inserted the date into the epic trailer.
Then, the hurdles came fast and furious.
My personal life took an unexpected turn, which led to me becoming overwhelmed. I stopped blogging to focus on changes and publishing.
September 5th arrived. The printer had delayed sending my proof copies, we discovered mistakes in the synopsis, and our publishing program freaked out and wouldn’t accept our cover design. My sister worked for two days, creating tons of new files before the program received her design {which it had not had trouble with before}. Even then, we had to wait another two days for our work to be approved manually.
We set a new deadline for ourselves: September 15th. Surely, we could make it. Unfortunately, we have yet to jump one last hurdle.
It’s September 23rd. I have yet to receive the copies we ordered over two weeks ago. {Not to demean the printer, but they’re taking forever!}
However, there is good news! My publishing partner, Humble Shack, has opened up preorders! Click here and order your copy now! We have confidence that we can send you a personally signed copy the week of October 5th.
I want to say a big “thank you” to my loving family who is persevering with me. I also want to thank anyone who has been waiting on this book. Your patience is much appreciated. The adventure is coming!
